About
This is one of my blogs. My name is Jason McIntosh – game designer, programmer, artist wannabe, and business guy. I run a tiny company called Creatrix Games, where I make games with Flash, Java, and (down the road a bit) Unity. I used to do downloadable games but that seems so antiquated in the age of web games.
For this blog, I’m going to be pretty technical and talk about a lot of programming, but also sometimes I’ll talk about how that intersects business. In particular, I will be discussing my experiences running a so-called “indie” game company on a shoestring budget (so far).
What this really means is I have a home office and work with contractors across the world (via Internet) on my various projects. There’s no huge corporate headquarters or even a little one. It’s intimate, white-knuckled ups and downs on the cutting edge of online game technology and small business.
Enjoy the ride!
